Sizing fonts on the modern web

I have recently noticed that some of my favorite designers have been greatly increasing the font size on their web pages. I think this is happening for a number of reasons but mainly because the new imac’s which I am sure they us now boast a cinema sized 27 inch screen. How does this then go on to effect type? Well I think now that screen real estate now has almost become stretched and so for the copy to look like it is part of this oversized art piece it to has now to become oversized.

I do enjoy large type however this oversizing of body copy I feel is almost pushing h1 and h2 tags to ridiculous sizes.
